Persian evening - October 2006

Frank Harper hosted the Food lovers in his new apartment right in the centre
of town. We were delighted
to learn that we were having a Persian meal (Iran).

Starters were with 2 salads; E Gojeh Khiar: salad with tomatoes, cucumber mixed with an
abundance of parsley, mint, coriander, lemon juice, garlic and shallots.


Mast- O Khiar: a Yoghurt dip with warm pita bread made with raisins, cucumber, sour cream, shallots, mint, dill, garlic, walnuts.

came Eslamboli Polow: this is another original way of eating rice! Rice
was cooked with tomato sauce, onions, garlic, stewed beef, fresh tomatoes,
turmeric and cinnamon. This delicious mixture was then left to on the
pan to be partly burnt, the crunch of this tasty rice is out of this
world!


All this wonderful food was accompanied with a good selection of red Bordeaux wine. Many thanks again to Frank for his good
idea.
